Whether your little cub needs extra academic encouragement or to sharpen his/her budding interpersonal skills, you can count on Southside to deliver a fun solution with just the right fit for your child. Our student body values community in all we do, and it shows! Consult our school Calendar or the News pages for club events.

Community Outreach

Southside Elementary prides itself in its continued dedication to community. Our staff, students, and parents work in conjunction with local churches and civic organizations to help those in need, via our many community service opportunities.

Our efforts have supplied food, toys, books, school supplies, and clothing items to thousands in Blackford County and overseas. Thanks to the generous contributions of our staff and school families, Southside has helped the less fortunate and those recovering from personal disaster with utility and housing assistance, child and/or senior care, substance abuse treatment programs, and other social services.

At Southside, our message is clear. We care! Here are a few of our community outreach programs and affiliations:

Leadership Rewards

Leading by example is one of Southside Elementary’s primary objectives. We are proud to offer two reward programs to recognize students who model exemplary behavior and good citizenship in and around our school campus.

  • Caught You Cub Program: A way for students to nominate their fellow classmates for achievement certificates and prizes from our cub den.
  • Cub Compliment Program: Allows staff to recognize student efforts in good cub conduct and going above and beyond common courtesy. Students earning Cub Compliments receive Cub Bucks, which they can redeem for prizes in our cub den.
